THOUSANDS JOIN MILO® RENTAK AKTIF SENAM AEROBIK
Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad was amongst the thousands at home who broke sweat to MILO® Rentak Aktif Senam Aerobik session via livestream on MILO® Malaysia Facebook page held last Sunday, 12 April, as the movement control order (MCO) entered its fifth week.
MILO® Rentak Aktif Senam Aerobik is a series of weekly online fitness classes to encourage Malaysians to stay active while staying at home during the MCO.
The session on Sunday was the second in the series that continues the MILO® Aktif Negaraku initiative to champion the goodness of sports and active as a way of life for all Malaysians.
Aranols said that not only MILO® wants to inspire Malaysians to take that crucial first step to get active but also lets everyone know that keeping active is, and should remain the norm, even as we adapt to this new normal lifestyle.
“We are glad we found a way to continue to keep Malaysians energised to go further during this time. It is more important now to take better care of our health and wellbeing while we are at home, whether we are beginners or keeping up our routines to stay active.”
Aranols was joined by his family who all enjoyed the session.
“Thanks to the wizardry of social media, even in isolation, we can bring people together to stay active. The goodness of MILO® has always been complemented by the goodness of sport; so we want to share with Malaysians that staying active is really easy.”
He added that, as someone who maintains an active lifestyle, he related to the struggle of countless others who want to stay active and fit during MCO.
“Until the MCO is lifted and the authorities advise that it is safe to get active outdoors again, we have MILO® Rentak Aktif. While staying safe indoors, I encourage all to keep a regular fitness routine.”
The one-hour class was led by fitness instructors Annie Tan, Shafiq Mickey, Sheena William, and Vivien Lee who each shared two easy-to-follow fitness routines.
They kicked the session off with the MILO® Rentak Aktif routine synchronised to the MILO® Aktif Negaraku anthem, an upbeat song that gets people moving to an active lifestyle.

NESCAFE RAI KEUSAHAWANAN BELIA UNIVERSITI
Program Keusahawanan Belia NESCAFÉ (NYEP) kembali meraikan kejayaan penglibatan belia dalam bidang keusahawanan sepanjang tahun dengan acara Majlis Anugerah Penutup NYEP yang berlangsung di Glasshouse, Seputih baru-baru ini.
Majlis yang mengiktiraf semangat keusahawanan yang ditonjolkan para peserta NYEP dan pencapaian kampus masing-masing menyaksikan penyampaian anugerah yang disampaikan termasuklah kepada pasukan yang mencapai jualan tertinggi serta pasukan dengan strategi promosi dan pemasaran yang paling kreatif.
Acara yang sama turut menampilkan panel perbincangan melibatkan pakar-pakar yang berkongsi pandangan tentang keusahawanan belia.
Mengulas tentang visi NYEP untuk membangunkan dan memupuk golongan belia, Othman Chraibi, Pegawai Eksekutif Perniagaan NESCAFÉ, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad berkata dalam ucapannya berkata:
“Kami teruja untuk mengukuhkan jalinan hubungan dengan golongan belia hari ini. Kami juga percaya bahawa jalinan hubungan ini mampu mencetuskan perubahan sosial yang positif. Justeru, cara yang terbaik adalah dengan menyediakan platform yang membolehkan golongan belia memupuk cita-cita mereka, di samping membantu mereka mengorak langkah menuju alam dewasa berbekalkan kemahiran dan pengetahuan keusahawanan yang berguna dan praktikal.”
Selain menyediakan pembelajaran berasaskan pengalaman, NYEP juga berusaha memupuk nilai-nilai bersama dengan menyumbang semula keuntungan yang diraih kepada mahasiswa terbabit bagi membiayai keperluan kampus masing-masing.
Setakat ini, program ini telah memperkasakan seramai 5,000 usahawan belia, malahan dijangka akan terus berkembang.
“Di samping memperkayakan kehidupan golongan belia, kami berharap pengalaman bersama NYEP akan membantu mereka mendapat peluang pekerjaan yang lebih baik dan meningkatkan peluang mereka untuk berjaya dalam mengejar cita-cita. Sebagai tambahan kepada NYEP, peserta yang menunjukkan prestasi cemerlang akan dijemput untuk menyertai satu program latihan industri di Nestlé bagi memupuk kemahiran kepimpinan serta minda keusahawanan mereka,” tambah Chraibi.
Bermula pada 2016 di 3 kampus, program kini telah berkembang meliputi 15 kampus dan menjangkaui hampir satu juta belia serta penggemar NESCAFÉ di seluruh negara.
Inisiatif NESCAFÉ itu bertujuan untuk menggalakkan peluang pekerjaan wajar dalam kalangan belia dan memupuk diversiti di tempat kerja, NYEP memperkasakan dan mempersiapkan mahasiswa tempatan dengan pengalaman perniagaan ‘kehidupan sebenar’ yang menyediakan peluang menguruskan gerai ‘pop-up’ serba lengkap yang menyajikan NESCAFÉ di kampus masing-masing.
Ditugaskan untuk mengembangkan perniagaan secara keseluruhannya dengan berbekalkan dana permulaan, mahasiswa melibatkan diri secara langsung dalam operasi perniagaan, daripada pengurusan rantaian bekalan dan logistik, sehinggalah jualan dan pemasaran.
Kelainan yang dibawakan Anugerah NYEP pada tahun ini termasuk satu Cabaran Bonus yang dianjurkan buat julung kalinya, di mana para pelajar dari 7 universiti bersaing untuk menghasilkan resipi kopi asli terbaik di samping membentangkan idea pemasaran mereka kepada barisan panel pakar.
Dalam pada itu, Altimet, artis hip-hop yang kini menempa nama sebagai usahawan yang berjaya berkongsi tentang perjalanan keusahawanan beliau. Nasihat beliau kepada golongan belia:

Unlike the previous years, this year,
CNY singing competition "Wonderful New Year 2018 Singing Contest" is back
with great rewards. For the sake of a one million cash prize, everyone became
eager to participate in the contest. Everyone fought against each other so they
could win the competition for the sake of the monetary reward. However, along
the way, they learned to care for each other instead. They stopped their
unfriendly behaviour and learned to compromise and work together. The Chinese

In the spirit of Christmas, Firefly Airlines together with Tesco Malaysia played host to a group of 70 single mothers and their children at Tesco Mutiara Damansara recently.
The mothers with their children aged between 9 to 12 years old from the Selangor Single Mothers Association in Kuala Selangor were treated to a funfilled afternoon themed ‘Christmas Treats with Single Mothers & Kids’.

MGGA: SEND IN SHORT FILM ENTRIES ASAP
The Malaysia
International Film Festival Short Film Competition is calling for entries! This
competition aims to encourage local independent filmmakers and aspiring young
showcase their hidden talents through this international platform. In addition,
it discovers and foster more potential talents for the local scene. Malaysia International
Film Festival (MIFFest) and Malaysia Golden Global Awards (MGGA) provide an opportunity and international platform for local
film cooperation to introduce Malaysian film and culture to the world.
SHORT FILM COMPETITION
For this time, the short
film competition has set its as ‘Humanity: Hope & Despair’. ‘Humanity’ has
2 different faces which are ‘Hope’ and ‘Despair’. Hope is a feeling of
expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen. Despair is the feeling
that life is without hope. Short film which brings out the value of humanity
will be welcome by the competition. Different men have their own definition of
humanity, the jury are hoping to see a distinct side of expressing the value of
humanity. This competition is only open to all citizens in Malaysia. The aim of
this competition is to educate, inspire and motivate the young generation in
life through films on the theme of ‘Humanity’.

CATEGORY AND VOTING SYSTEM
Public
Award is a new category added by this year in short film competition. Apart
from the juries, audience’s voice is also an important one on both sides of the
aisle. This year, the winner of the award will not only be decided by the Jury,
but also general public through an online voting system. The organiser will announces
the TOP 10 short films which nominated by the juries and the public may vote
their favourite short films within the TOP 10 on MIFFest and MGGA official
Facebook page. The winner will be selected through public voting (30% weight)
and Jury (70% weight).
REGISTRATION
AND SUBMISSION
Entries are
only acceptable through online application. Students receive submission waiver
when entries accompanied by a legitimate student ID or official letter from the
learning institution as proof of current student. Aside of that, filmmakers
just need to pay only RM20 to submit entries. The submission of short film
competition will run from 1st September 2017 till 3rd
November 2017. The organiser only accept short films that no longer than 20
minutes.
AWARDS
The
grand winner and the winner of Public Award will be announced on 15th
January 2018. Winner will walk away with exciting prizes including RM 2,000 cash, film screening

PANASONIC, HATCH PRESENT 'HACTION'
Commemorating Malaysia’s 60th National Day,
Panasonic Malaysia has partnered with HATCH, a YouTube channel under Media Prima's
Studio8, to present “HACTION! Shot on Lumix GH5. HACTION! is a short
film competition that brings together six Malaysian filmmakers to relive the
journey of Malaysia’s achievements and national pride over the last six
decades.
Capitalising on Studio8’s strong track record of
creating Malaysian original content that pushed the boundaries of storytelling,
HACTION! aims to inspire filmmakers to produce their unique take of Malaysia’s
achievement and pride. The collaboration, featuring the new Panasonic LUMIX GH5
camera, was announced during the product launch in Malaysia earlier this year.
Mr. Hiroyuki Muto, Deputy Managing Director of
Panasonic Malaysia said, “With over 40 years of local presence in Malaysia,
Panasonic is committed to the development of innovative digital cameras to
provide a new photo culture in the digital era. Our partnership with Media
Prima is a significant platform to be part of the journey in celebrating

Through this partnership, Panasonic is confident it

6 Decades, 6 Stories, 6 Filmmakers
With over 60 years of achievements, Malaysia has grown
to be a worldwide example that showcases ethnic diversity, multiculturalism, and
home to varied cuisines, culture and languages. To celebrate Malaysia’s 60th
Independence, HACTION! brings together six Malaysian filmmakers to capture
Malaysia’s best moments through the lenses of their cameras.
Mr. Muto shared, “The digital camera has
revolutionized photography, making it accessible to more people and creating
more talents. As the industry reinvents progressively, mirrorless cameras is
now a growing trend in Malaysia, with video production gaining its popularity
and the standard for cinematography is getting higher as well.”
“We saw this partnership as a good platform to nurture
our local filmmakers in creating visually and engaging stories, while
showcasing the capabilities of the LUMIX GH5”, added Mr Muto.
Hailing from the circles of independent
production community, HACTION! shortlisted filmmakers representing different
styles and genres where most of the works produced have been recognised from
local and international industry leaders.
Each filmmaker were tasked to produce a maximum
of 5-minutes video that highlights the beauty of Malaysia and the six decades
of unity, peace and harmony. All six filmmakers were equipped with a Panasonic
LUMIX GH5 for audio and visual recording, a fund of RM4,000 for production and
30-days to complete the filming and submission of their short film.
Comprising of well-known industry thought
leaders, the panel of judges consist of Ahmad Izham Omar, CEO of Primeworks
Studios, Mr. Hiroyuki Muto, Deputy Managing Director of Panasonic Malaysia, and
Low Ngai Yuen, renowned film director and actress as the guest judge. Each
short film was judged based on 70% of judges’ vote including storytelling,
editing and post production, and cinematography. The remaining 30% were contributed
by public voting which was opened from 1-21 August 2017.
The winning short film received a complete set of the
Panasonic LUMIX GH5, accessories and cash prize of RM8,000. The HACTION! series
is available for viewing on Hatch (www.youtube.com/wehatchyou) a
YouTube channel under Media Prima’s Studio8 that is created to entertain and
inspire the urban millennial audience.

MIFFEST BEGINS 28 FEB, MGGA AWARDS 5 MAC.
By end February, beginning 28 February 2017 to 4th March 2017, Malaysia will witness an inaugural international film event, namely Malaysia International Film Festival and Malaysia Golden Global Awards or in short, MIFFEST and MGGA.
This mega event is set to celebrate the best international and local films simultaneously promoting the unique Malaysian arts and cultures to audiences worldwide.
The first part of the inaugural event, which is the film festival section will run at Nu Sentral Shopping Centre Kuala Lumpur while the Malaysia Golden Global Awards Night presentation will take place on 5 March 2017 at the Arena of Stars, Resort World Genting.
The festival is jointly presented by The Jazzy Group and the National Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS.) while high profile support comes from Wen Tien Hsiang, organizer of the long-running Golden Horse festival and awards in Taiwan, as well as several embassies in Malaysia.
MIFFEST will feature a competition of 10 international films having their Malaysian premiere, as well as 20 other films that Malaysians would not be able to otherwise catch on the commercial circuit. It other stated objective is to boost the Malaysian tourism industry.
During the launch of MIFFest & MGGA at a media conference recently, Chairman of MifFest & MGGA, Ms. Joanne Goh (below, right) said, “Malaysia 1st International Film Festival and Golden Globe Awards is designed to promote local and international film productions by recognizing and rewarding quality films and filmmakers.
“The festival also aims to introduce Malaysia films, arts and culture to the world with the primary intention of developing our country’s tourism industry.”
MMGA sees participations from 16 countries from Asia, 16 awards to give, including Best Local Film.
At the event, the organizer welcome its ambassador, Malaysian singer-actress, Ms SinJe Lee (below, left) while honored to get support from another Malaysian actress, Lai Meng, who gained fame with her portrayal of a mother suffering from Aizheimer’s disease in Singaporean director Jack Neo’s Money No Enough II.
The movie achieved the best box office collection and she was nominated as Best Actress in the 45th Golden Horse Awards dues to her superb acting skills.
Among the jury panel lead by Mr. Kim Dong-ho from South Korea will include Mr. Andreas Dresen (Germany), Mr. Garin Nugroho (Phillipines), Prof Xie Fei (China), Ms Yeo Yann Yann (Malaysia) and Ms. Yeh Ju-Feng from Taiwan.

ASTRO'S "YUTTHA MEDAI JUNIOR DANCE COMPETITION IS BACK
After a huge success in 2014, “Yuttha Medai Junior” returns on Astro with a twist to it. The programme has started its telecast on Astro Vinmeen HD (Channel 231) at 8pm for eight weeks beginning last Dec 3.
This year, 9 contestants aged between 8 to 11 years old were selected to compete for the champion title in this dance competition.

COURTS OPEN FOUR NEW STORES

WORLD TOURISM CONFERENCE IN PENANG, 17 OCT.
The Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) is delighted to once again host the World Tourism Conference (WTC).
This year’s edition will be held in George Town, Penang, from 17 to 19 October 2016, in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).
MOTAC has previously hosted the WTC in 2007 (Kuala Lumpur), 2010 (Kota Kinabalu) and 2013 (Melaka).
The event is expected to bring together world leaders in tourism, high-level policy makers, specialists and experts from the public and private sectors, academicians and media representatives to exchange ideas and knowledge as well as share experiences to enhance tourism development further.
Minister of Tourism and Culture Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said, “WTC 2016 promises to be an exciting and engaging tourism forum to learn of success stories, current issues, solutions and best practice case studies.”

LEGO® Malaysia is on the lookout for the best LEGO® CITY builder through the LEGO® CITY ADVENTURES “Top Builders of the Month” nationwide contest. Taking place in July till October 2016, this contest will see children across the country using LEGO® CITY bricks to build and complete the adventure shown on the LEGO® store’s existing diorama display, and narrate their story using the ‘what happens in between’ storyline.

TRANSFORMERS AUTOBOTS ALL SET TO “ROLL OUT” IN 1 UTAMA
If you are a transformer fan ,.,,, then mark this date on your calandar in your smartphone as you wouldnt want to miss the excitement thats becoming between 25 May to 5 June 2016.
As all would know, Transformers started off as a comic series in the 1980s before evolving into animated television series that depicts a war amongst giant alien robots that can transform into vehicles and other objects.
Set against the outerworld Cybertron and Earth, it centres on factions of the Autobots and the Decepticons in an endless struggle for dominance or eventual peace.
Since the first Transformers was adapted onto the big screen in 2007, its cinematography and special effects have captivated audiences from around the world - both adults and children alike.
Now, Malaysians will have the chance to relive the Transformers experience live! These robot-aliens will be making an appearance in 1 Utama during the next school holidays.
Organised by Hasbro Toy (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd, the details of the event are as below:

As an added bonus, the exclusive Chevrolet Camaro that made its film debut as Bumblebee will also be on display at the event on 26 May, 3.00 to 6.00pm. Only five of these cars are known to exist in the country, making the car’s display in 1 Utama a rare opportunity.
Besides meeting their heroes and the opportunity to purchase exclusive Transformers merchandise, children of all ages can look forward to a host of exciting activities at the roadshow to keep themselves well occupied during the holidays.
These include the Fastest Fingers Challenge in which children 8-12 years old can participate with a minimum purchase of RM120 in two receipts. The challenge will require them to assemble a complete Transformers combiner figure in the fastest time possible. The winner of each session of the challenge, which takes place over the weekends during the roadshow period, will take home a Generations Combiner Leader figure worth RM249.90.
With a minimum purchase of RM80 in two receipts, children aged 5 to 12 will have the chance to bring out their inner Transformer character in the Dynamic 5 Challenge. Designed to promote teamwork and leadership, this activity is centred around Transformers characters Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Grimlock and Strongarm.
Everyone emerges a winner in this activity as participants will receive a Transformers gift upon completion. They will also have the opportunity to have their photo taken with a live-sized 10-feet Bumblebee and Optimus Prime statues in front of a cinematic Transformers visual background.
One Card members who arrive at the scene early can have their children participate in these activities and contests without a minimum purchase. However, these are limited to 50 children per day on a first come first serve basis.
Adult fans are also not excluded from the roadshow as there will be a special display consisting of collectors’ and limited edition figure over the course of the roadshow period.
The iconic Transformers is an action-packed fictional movie and animation series, featuring robot aliens armed with advanced weaponry and combat skills. The relationship between these robots and humans make up much of the essence of the Transformers story.

HUAWEI P9 LAUNCH AT BATTERSEA, LONDON
London, 6th April 2016: Today, at an exclusive launch event at London’s Battersea Evolution, Huawei Consumer Business Group unveiled the much-awaited Huawei P9 series, destined to reinvent smartphone photography.
At the global technology brand’s star-studded event, Hollywood actor Henry Cavill, who features in the Huawei P9 campaign alongside Scarlett Johansson (both global product ambassadors for Huawei P9 series), was joined by a host of world-renowned photographers including Mary McCartney and National Geographic World Press Photo Award winning photographer David Guttenfelder.
